Scandinavian kitchen – another project, another dream come true with Querido, Mudei a Casa! This time, the challenge was transforming an outdated kitchen into a modern, functional, and welcoming family space.

Interior designer Teresa Pietra Torres embraced a Nordic concept, creating a bright and timeless atmosphere.

A complete makeover

The kitchen was badly in need of renovation.
“It is a very dated kitchen—small cabinets, limited storage, narrow worktop, etc. We will create a new kitchen with more storage, a fresh colour scheme, and better lighting. The goal is to make it functional and inviting for the whole family”, says Teresa Pietra Torres.

The team achieved just that: a modern Scandinavian kitchen where functionality, comfort, and timeless appeal are key.

Inspiration for a Scandinavian kitchen

Typically, Scandinavian design features light colours, natural woods, and a minimalist aesthetic.

Teresa chose a crisp white base to enhance the sense of space and brightness. This colour was complemented with natural wood accents, adding warmth and character while maintaining a timeless look.

The subtle touches of colour come from decorative elements, easily interchangeable for a fresh look.

A functional and organised kitchen

Every square metre of this kitchen was optimised to maximise storage and efficiency.

On one side, the worktop is flanked by upper and lower cabinets, ensuring ample storage space.
On the other side: large appliances, pantry units, and a cosy wooden niche for the dining area. Also included here is the laundry area.

Composite 50 Alpina: the perfect sink for a Scandinavian kitchen

The Composite 50 Alpina sink was the perfect solution for this timeless Scandinavian kitchen, seamlessly integrated into the white worktop.
With its sleek, minimalist design and matte finish, this sink strikes the perfect balance between functionality, durability, and elegance. Made from quartz and acrylic, it offers excellent resistance to daily use. The velvety texture is also a plus factor.

The Line MN 1022 tap complements the sink beautifully.
